The 2022 year programs of the “Occupational Health and Safety” trainings, which were initiated by the Near East University in 2020 and approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, start on 16 May.
The trainings cover the duties, authorities, responsibilities, rights and obligations of employers and employees, health surveillance in workplaces, health and safety rules, and Occupational Health and Safety management and organization. Registration for the trainings to be given by the Near East University, which has been authorized and documented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security after completing the necessary conditions in accordance with the rules of “Certification of Persons Providing Occupational Health and Safety Services and Authorization of Organizations” issued under the Occupational Health and Safety Law, has started.
Near East University, which continues all the education programs stipulated by the statute with its expert instructors and strong infrastructure, as per the law, has so far completed the “Occupational Health and Safety Specialization”, “Basic Occupational Health and Safety” and “Construction Occupational Health and Safety” courses four times each. In addition, NEU successfully conducted the “Certificate Renewal Course” twice and the “Occupational Health and Safety Trainer Training” course once.
Theoretical and practical training will be given under three headings…
Within the scope of Occupational Health and Safety trainings to be given by the Near East University Occupational Health and Safety Institute; “Occupational Health and Safety Specialization Training”, “Basic Occupational Health and Safety Training” and “OHS Trainer’s Training” programs will be held for Occupational Health and Safety Specialists. In these trainings, basic theoretical and practical information about occupational health and safety will be given. Occupational Health and Safety Trainings, which include important topics such as creating healthy and safe working environments, preventing work accidents and occupational diseases, risk assessment, OHS training techniques for adults, will be conducted by the expert training staff of Near East University using interactive training methods.

Aziz Gürpınar, Occupational Health and Safety Program Manager and OHS Specialist, stated that Near East University fulfills the conditions in the Regulation on Certification of Persons Providing Occupational Health and Safety Services and Authorization of Organizations. He said that he was authorized as the Educational Institution of Health and Safety.
Stating that “The Occupational Health and Safety Law imposes important duties and responsibilities on employers as well as state inspections and sanctions,” Gürpınar said, “One of them is to receive support from qualified and expert personnel in the execution of occupational health and safety services in workplaces. In the Regulation on Certification of Persons Providing Occupational Health and Safety Services and Authorization of Organizations, which was enacted under the law, the content of the courses for the training of this staff, the qualifications of the trainers to be assigned and many other issues were regulated. As Near East University, our application, which we made by fulfilling all these issues, was approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security after the necessary evaluations. Thus, our University has been authorized as the Occupational Health and Safety Training Institution to carry out all the trainings specified in the relevant regulation. Stating that the pandemic process has revealed the importance of public health in general and the health and safety rules in workplaces in particular, Gürpınar said that the courses for the year 2022 will start on May 16.
Stating that the Near East University provides these trainings in the best way with its expert instructor staff, Gürpınar said that thanks to these studies, qualified staff in the field of occupational health and safety are trained and they serve in the workplaces and play an important role in creating a safer working environment in our country.
