Near East University will represent the TRNC at the 6th Turkic World Documentary Film Festival, which will be held with the slogan “Unity in Language 9 Countries 9 Cities 1 Festival”

Near East University will represent TRNC at the 6th Turkic World Documentary Film Festival organized by the Turkish World Journalists Federation. Near East University will represent the TRNC at the 6th. Turkic World Documentary Film Festival which will be realized with participations from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Hungary and Macedonia, autonomous Turkic Republics, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Bashkortostan, Tuva, Yakutia, Dagestan, Khakassia and relative communities. The motto of the festival, of which theme this year is “Turkic Culture and Turkic Perspective on the World”, will be “Unity in language 9 countries 9 cities 1 festival”. The deadline for the documentary competition leg of the festival is 30 August 2021.

Near East University faculty members are on the jury…
Near East University Communication Faculty Radio, Television and Cinema Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap will serve as a member of the executive committee at the 6th Turkic World Documentary Film Festival, where Chairman of Board of Trustees of Near East University Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel is a member of the Honorary Board. Also, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fevzi Kasap and Near East University Faculty of Communication faculty members Zeyde Yalıner Örek and Dr. Serkan Fundalar will also serve as jury members.

The winning documentaries will be screened in nine different countries.
Menderes Demir, head of the organization committee of the festival, said that the documentaries that will be ranked in the competition csection of the Turkish World Documentary Film Festival, which is organized under the leadership of the Turkic World Journalists Federation and with the support of state institutions, universities and professional organizations, will be broadcast in nine countries.
