Organized by Trakya University and Izmir Branch of the Association of Turkish Biologists, the 13th International Congress on Ecology and Environment was held at Balkan Congress Center on 12-15 September 2017. About 500 scientists from different countries including Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey and TRNC participated in the congress which provided an exceptional scientific platform where various ecological and environmental problems discussed, and possible solutions were proposed. Asst. Prof. Dr. Nazım Kaşot, lecturer of Environmental Education and Management course and Head of the Department of Classroom Teaching of Atatürk Faculty of Education of the Near East University, took active part the organizing committee of the congress.

Near East University Represented TRNC successfully at the 13th International Congress on Ecology and Environment

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the Near East University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nazım Kaşot, lecturer of Environmental Education and Management course and Head of the Department of Classroom Teaching of Atatürk Faculty of Education of the Near East University, represented his faculty and TRNC successfully with his presentations.

Three studies including 'Environmental factors that have negative effects on the avifauna in Northern Cyprus', conducted jointly with Expert Asuman Kuyucu, 'Wildlife Rehabilitation Activities in Northern Cyprus', conducted jointly with Expert Mert Beşiktaş, and 'Important Biodiversity Regions in Northern Cyprus' conducted jointly with Expert Türkay Öyken, were presented successfully by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nazım Kaşot.
