Near East University was ranked as the 115th best university in the world and the 16th best private university in Europe in the AD Scientific Index’s world university rankings, where it is listed as the best university in the TRNC and one of the three best foundation universities in Turkey.

Near East University, which is listed among the best universities in the world by many other higher education rating institutions from the UK, USA, China and Turkey, also made its mark in the “World University Rankings” announced by AD Scientific Index. Near East University, of which title of “the best university in TRNC” was once again registered, was listed among the top three foundation universities in Turkey. Near East University, which was previously introduced as the 139th best young university in the world by Times Higher Education, was listed as the 115th best private university in the world among more than 8 thousand universities by AD Scientific Index. In the same study, Near East University was listed as the 16th best private university in Europe.

The number of universities assessed in the “World University Rankings” by the international higher education rating agency AD Scientific Index increased from 17,827 to 18,463 this year. The number of scientists included in the ranking increased from 1.7 million to approximately 2.1 million worldwide. In the list where the academic publication and citation performances of universities and scientists in the last five years are assessed, Near East University made its mark not only in the institutional ranking but also in the scientist ranking. Based on Google Scholar data, the list evaluating the academic publication and citation performances of universities and scientists in the last six years was created by analyzing the annual, six-year and total values ​​of the h-index and i10-index criteria. 492 academicians of Near East University were among the best in the world.

In the ranking prepared by AD Scientific Index, Near East University was listed as the best university in the TRNC and one of the top three foundation universities in Turkey in the ranking of the best universities, according to the total H index score. When public universities around the world are excluded, Near East University was ranked as the 115th best private university in the world and the 16th best private university in Europe by AD Scientific Index.

9 academicians from Near East University are in the top 3 percent worldwide!

Near East University, one of the top three foundation universities in Turkey, also hosts the best academicians of the country with the title of the best university in the TRNC. AD Scientific Index’s list of the world’s best scientists includes a total of 492 academicians from Near East University.

TRNC, which has a total of 26 universities, is represented on the list with 1,346 scientists. Near East University hosts approximately 37 percent of this number with 492 scientists. On the other hand, 4 of the top 5 academics in the country; 18 of the top 25 academics carry out their studies at Near East University.

While there are 492 names from Near East University in the AD Scientific Index’s best scientists ranking, nine of them are in the top 3 percent of the world rankings; 30 names are in the top 10 percent; 54 names are in the top 20 percent.

Sercan Şen, İsa Dumanoğlu, Kerem Cankoçak, Hüsnü Can Başer, Fadi Al-Turjman, Yasir Waheed, Derin Orhon, Babak Ghanbarzadeh and Mehmet Özsöz from Near East University are among the 3 percent of the world’s best academicians. Among these names, Prof. Dr. Sercan Şen, Prof. Dr. İsa Dumanoğlu and Prof. Dr. Kerem Cankoçak are shown as the top three academicians of the TRNC as well as taking place among the top 500 academics in the world.
