The Near East University Robotics Laboratory (NEU Robotics Lab.) received an award at the opening ceremony of the 43. TRNC International Fair for their studies in the field of innovation and technology.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the Near East University, the Parliamentary Speaker Teberrüken Uluçay, Prime Minister Ersin Tatar, Turkey's Nicosia Ambassador Ali Murat Başçeri and Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy presented an award to the Near East University for their studies in the field of innovation and technology.

The Near East University Robotics Laboratory deemed worthy of award for its achievements such as the RoboCup 2018 Championship won by the Near East University Robotic Football Team, 3D printers, patents, innovative solar powered cars.

Following the award ceremony, Parliament Speaker Teberrüken Uluçay, Prime Minister Ersin Tatar, Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri, Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy, ministers, MPs and officials visited Neurobotics, 3D Lab and Günsel brand vehicle under the umbrella of the Near East University Technology Initiative (NERITA) and received information about the studies and research carried out. Speaking during the visit, Economy and Energy Minister Hasan Tacoy, stated that the human resources and the development of the country in the field of technology and innovation, and the economy to stand on its own feet with new investments in this direction should be promoted.
