Prof. Dr. Nedime Serakıncı, the Chairperson of Center of Excellence and Genetics & Cancer Diagnosis Research Center of the Near East University, will attend the symposium on "Stem Cells in Regenerative Medicine" as an invited keynote speaker.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of NEU (Near East University Nicosia, Cyprus), Hacettepe University Stem-Cell and Application Center has been organizing "Stem- Cell Day" in November every year since 2013. "Stem cells in Regenerative Medicine" is the theme of Stem-Cell Day 2015. The event will take place at Hacettepe University Culture Center on November 21.

At the symposium themed on "Stem cells in Regenerative Medicine", she will present her studies regarding stem cell applications

Many distinguished scientists who are experts in the field of stem cell science and regenerative medicine will participate in the symposium that will be held in Hacettepe campus in Ankara. Being one of these distinguished scientists, Prof. Dr. Nedime Serakıncı, lecturer from the Near East University Faculty of Medicine, will participate in the symposium as a keynote speaker upon invitation. Professor Doctor Nedime Serakıncı will present her study on "Do stem-cell applications in regenerative medicine pose any risk for cancer?"

Prof. Dr. Nedime Serakıncı: "I'm glad that I will be together with distinguished scientists at such an event that is very important for the field of medicine"

Talking about the symposium, Professor Doctor Nedime Serakıncı expressed her pleasure of being invited to the symposium as a keynote speaker. “Having been invited to make a speech at the symposium which will be attended by many national and international distinguished scientists is a great pleasure for me. As Near East University Faculty of Medicine, we continuously exert efforts to take part in all domains concerning with health by conducting innovative studies. Biomedical approach to clinical therapy that involves the use of stem cells is an accentuated issue in regenerative medicine. I am both happy and proud that I will come together with distinguished scientists within this frame and provide them information regarding our studies on the issue" said she.

Professor Doctor Nedime Serakıncı is one of the first scientists, who left mark in the field of stem cells by detecting the potentiality of Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in tumor growth and proving that MSCs might be used as a vehicle, even as a guided missile, to transport chemotherapeutic agents in fighting cancer.
