The project initiated by the Near East University Social Research and Development Center to give psychosocial support to students studying in public schools, especially to students affected by the earthquakes, will also be implemented at the Beyarmudu Primary School after Haspolat Primary School.

Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to provide social support to students with psychological support. The first phase of the Psychosocial Support Project was held at Haspolat Primary School with a 5 -week program. Within the scope of the project, especially focusing on the students affected by the earthquakes, it was aimed to provide psychosocial support to the students and many students benefited from the program. In Haspolat Primary School, activities such as painting, play technique, fairy tale reading and language work were organized with the project including a total of 270 students. At the same time, various activities such as artistic activities, sports feasts and April 23 celebrations were supported within the scope of the project and the students were aimed at socializing in harmony. The activities carried out within the scope of the project were planned in harmony with the purposes of sustainable development such as qualified education, reducing inequalities and partnerships.

The project was voluntarily carried out by Near East University Ataturk Faculty of Education Department of Preschool Teaching lecturer Assist. Prof. Dr. Şebnem Güldal Kan and ArtTeaching Department Faculty Member Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma Miralay and contributed by the President of the Near East University Social Research and Development Center Presidents Prof.Dr. Fahriye Altınay and Prof.Dr. Dr. Zehra Altınay Gazi and academicians and many students from Near East University Preschool Teaching, Social Sciences and Turkish Teaching, Folklore and Preschool Teaching Departments.

After Haspolat Primary School, it will be carried out at Beyarmudu Primary School!
The first program of the project, which was implemented at Haspolat Primary School, will be implemented at Beyarmudu Primary School. The project will be implemented in Beyarmudu Primary School with two main headings as “Secure School and Technology Seminar” and “Psychosocial Support Training Practices in Multicultural Environment”. Assist Prof. Dr. ŞAHİN AKDAĞ, Assist. Prof. Dr. Şebnem Güldal Kan and Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma Miralay will assume the task.

Prof. Dr. Şebnem Güldal Kan said, “We completed the first phase of the project we started to give psychosocial support to the students studying in our public schools with the participation of approximately 270 students at Haspolat Primary School. The second program of the project will be carried out at the Beyarmudu Primary School. This project, with which we get very positive results, in case of demand in other public schools, will be carried out in other state schools, too.”
