Near East University students will cheer with “Saturday Concerts”!

Saturday Concerts will bring the fun to the top at the Near East University Campus throughout the year!

Offering a colorful campus life to its students in addition to the academic opportunities it offers with its strong infrastructure, Near East University has launched a new event program with “Saturday Concerts”. The second of the concert series, which will be held every Saturday by the Near East University Deanery Office of Students, will be held on 29 October at the location of Köprüaltı (Underneath Bridge area), one of the busiest places on the Near East University campus.

Keep having fun!
The event, which will take place with the slogan of “Keep having fun”, will start at 15.00 on Saturday, October 29 and continue uninterruptedly until 22:00. The first part of the program will start at 15:00 with MR Joker’s DJ performance. The entertainment, which will continue with the one-hour show of the Near East University Health, Culture and Sports Department Dance Team at 17.00, will continue with the concert of Kiwi, one of the local music groups of Northern Cyprus. The concert of Kiwi, which will excite the audience with its pop and rock repertoire consisting of Turkish and English songs, will begin at 18:00. After the concert, at 20:00, Dj Mr. Joker will continue to excite the students with his two-hour performance.

Reminding that NEU was ranked as the best university of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 6 categories in the “World University Rankings 2023” field rankings announced by Times Higher Education during the week, Özkum said pointed out that Near East University ranked in the top 175 band in the world in Computer Sciences, in the top 200 in the world in Engineering, in the top 500 in the world in Education, in the top 501-600 in the field of Clinic and Health, and in the top 601-800 in the fields of Life Sciences and Social Sciences. Near East University Dean of Students Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz also said, “While we have our name among the best universities in the world with our academic productivity, we also offer our students a campus life with rich social opportunities, intertwined with culture and art.”

Stating that with the “Saturday Concerts” series, which started on October 21, they aim to make an environment where students can socialize while having fun, Prof. Dr. Özkum said, “Saturday Concerts, which we plan to make traditional, will bring the entertainment to the top at the Near East University Campus throughout the year!”
