Near East University Hair Care and Beauty Services Department students visited the Nicosia Special Education Center in cooperation with the Near East University Social Research Center and performed hair care, beauty and face painting practices for children on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

In the event organized to develop awareness and solidarity, disabled children had a good day with fun face paints applied by Near East University students.

Near East University Hair Care and Beauty Services Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeşim Üstün Aksoy said, “It means a lot to touch the hearts of our individuals with special needs, to listen to them and to understand them.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aksoy thanked Soner Öyken, the Director of Nicosia Special Education Center, and all teachers and staff for their support to the event.

Heads of Near East University Social Research Center Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay and Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay, on the other hand, said that contributing to the happiness of children with special needs is an important source of happiness in itself.
