Students from the Banking and Finance Department of the Near East University also participated in the "1st International Banking Congress" held for the first time this year by the Faculty of Commercial Sciences of Başkent University with participation of a large number of scientists at national and international level.

The congress sponsored by the largest financial institutions of Turkey held in Ankara Sheraton Hotel, attended by the largest financial institutions of banking and insurance sectors and a large number of issues related to the financial sector and capital market were discussed.

According to information provided by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, Turkey Business Bank (İş Bank) Chairman Ersin Özince, Turkey Banks Union Chairman Melikşah Utku,and Deputy Undersecretary of Treasury, Dr. Ahmet Genç took part as the guest speakers of the congress. The students of Banking and Finance Department of Near East University participated in the congress with their teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdem Kirkbesoglu. The two-day congress attracted students, panelists and scientific sessions to learn about the current financial market issues and provided to opportunity to meet important figures from the financial sector.
