Near East University student Serkan Demirkol is in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Universities Boxing Championship!

Near East University student Serkan Demirkol, who represented the TRNC in the Turkish Universities Boxing Championship, attended by 66 universities, made his mark in the quarter-finals!

Representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the Turkish Universities Boxing Championship organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation, Near East University student Serkan Demirkol made his mark in the quarter-finals in the +92 kilos in the tournament where 66 universities have participated.

Demirkol, who will go for the quarter-final match on Wednesday, March 30, at the Inter-University Boxing Championship in Balikesir, Turkey, will challenge to Berat Acar from Samsun University.

Serkan Demirkol, a third-year student at the Near East University Faculty of Sports Sciences Coaching Department, is one of the strongest candidates for the final to be held on Friday, April 1st.

Serkan Demirkol, who trained for the championship under the coaching of boxing trainer Dindar Gölçek at the Near East Sports Tower, continued his conditioning, strength and fitness trainings in company with the Sports Tower Manager Turgut Zabit.


The opponent is tough but we are ready!
Serkan Demirkol, who succeeded in reaching the quarter-finals of the Turkish Universities Boxing Championship, stated that he came out to represent the Near East University and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the best possible way and that he was ambitious for the final.

Trainers Dindar Gölçek and Turgut Zabit, who accompanied Serkan Demirkol in the championship held in Balıkesir, expressed their confidence in Demirkol, their students, saying that they matched a very tough opponent in the quarter-finals.
