Near East University Search and Rescue Club (AKUT) Members attending Civil Defense Special Exercise given certificate of appreciation

Members of Near East University Search and Rescue Club (AKUT) were presented with a certificate of appreciation for their contributions to the “Civil Defense Special Exercise" held by the Civil Defense Organization in order to raise public awareness on disasters and emergencies. Within this scope, Civil Defense Organization Presidency Nicosia Regional Director Alkın Gedikoğlu and Ufuk Şahan, made a visit to Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş, Dean of Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the International Universities Search and Rescue Council Founding President, for their contributions to the exercise as the institution.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the Near East University, the Founding President of the International Universities Search and Rescue Council and the Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Near East University, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş, members of the council Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Dolunay and Faculty of Communication lecturer Assist. Prof. Dr. Hakan Karahasan, and the members of Search and Rescue Club (AKUT) were presented certificates of appreciation for their active contributions and support to the exercise.

Members of Near East University Search and Rescue Club, Mücahit Dana, Mehmet Bardakko, Doğuş Saadetoğlu, Eylül Elzem Civan, Hüseyin Akdoğan, Mustafa Şahin and Ali Rıza Battı received a certificate of appreciation for their active participation in the Civil Defense Special Exercise held by the Civil Defence Organization in Nicosia with the aim of creating social awareness for disaster emergencies and developing cooperation between institutions and organizations.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş expressed his gratitude with the visit and stated that the cooperation between the Civil Defense Organization and the Near East University will continue increasingly.
