Near East University Science Awards Will Find Their Owners on June 20!

The traditional Near East University Science Awards and the Dr. Suat Günsel Honorary Award Gold Medal will find their owners at a ceremony to be held on June 20. Following the award ceremony, the “Fine Arts May Exhibition” will host art lovers.
The Near East University Science Awards and the Dr. Suat Günsel Honorary Award Gold Medal, which have become traditional for the purpose of supporting scientific productivity, will find their owners at a magnificent ceremony. The ceremony for the Near East University Science Awards, which will be given for the eighth time this year, will be held on Friday, June 20 at 16:00 at the Near East University Grand Library Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan Republic Hall.

The most striking innovation of this year will be the “Sustainability Awards” to be given for the first time. These awards, which will find their owners in a total of eight different categories, will highlight scientific studies that contribute to the environment, society and the future.

Immediately following the ceremony, at 17:30, the “Fine Arts May Exhibition” consisting of artworks made by academic artists of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design and artists of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will be opened at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall.

Science, labor and sustainability will be crowned with eight different awards!
In the Near East University Science Awards to be given for the eighth time this year, awards will be given in the following categories; Publication Award, Publication Honor Award, Young Researcher Award and Young Researcher Encouragement Award, Most Effective Researcher Award and Best Academic Performance Award. In addition to these categories, the “Sustainability Awards” to be given for the first time this year will reward academic studies that contribute to environmental, economic and social sustainability.

In addition to the Science Awards, the “Dr. Suat Günsel Honorary Award Gold Medal” to be given for the fourth time this year and awarded only once in a lifetime will also find its new owner in the science category.

A reflection of scientific productivity, originality and social benefit!
Emphasizing that they aim to encourage scientific productivity and make the efforts of scientists visible with the Near East University Science Awards, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises, Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, said, “Building an academic culture based on scientific productivity, originality and social benefit is one of the fundamental missions of the Near East University. We aim to make this culture visible, encourage it and make it permanent with our Science Awards and the Dr. Suat Günsel Honorary Award Gold Medal.”

Also emphasizing the importance of the Sustainability Awards to be given for the first time this year, Near East University President Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ said, “As a reflection of our university’s responsibility to the future and humanity, the sustainability awards that we will give for the first time this year will highlight the efforts and academics in terms of economic and social dimensions.” Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ said, “I congratulate all our hard-working academics and hope that this award ceremony will inspire both the academic world and society.”
