Near East University School of Tourism and Hotel Management gave its 2017-2018 graduates

Near East University School of Tourism and Hotel Management gave its graduates for the spring term of the academic year 2017-2018 with a spectacular graduation ceremony at Hall 4 of the NEU Grand Library.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Vice Rector of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Şenol Bektaş, Head of Near East University School of Tourism and Hotel Management and Research Centre Prof. Dr. Tülen Saner, NEU Academicians, students and guests attended the gradation ceremony which was held at NEU Grand Library.

It was stated that as usual the graduation ceremony had begun with one minute’s silence in memory of the Great Turkish Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the Leader of the Turkish Cypriots Dr. Fazıl Küçük, Founding President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Rauf R. Denktaş and all martyrs; followed by the national anthem. Subsequently, a mini concert was given by Academic Member of the Department of Music Teaching of Atatürk Faculty of Education of Near East University, İlyas Abdullin.

Prof. Dr. Saner: “Near East University School of Tourism and Hotel Management is an institution which has adopted offering quality education and raising individuals equipped with the skills and knowledge currently required as a principle!”
Head of Near East University School of Tourism and Hotel Management and Tourism Research Centre, Prof. Dr. Tülen Saner, expressed that as an institution, the Near East University School of Tourism and Hotel Management has adopted a principle which involves raising individuals equipped with the skills and knowledge currently required in today’s world.

She added that in order to open the needed doors in one’s career life, the academic members of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management worked devotedly so as to provide an education that is above the standards and assured that they will continue to work similarly in the future as well. Prof. Dr. Saner further expressed that as well as the graduating students, the diplomas were also well-deserved by their parents since they had provided their full support to their children. She added that they were aware of all the commitments which parents were required to make through their children’s educational lives and honoured the parents of graduating students.

Prof. Dr. Saner:” It is time for you all to take responsibility for your country and for humanity in general!”
Prof. Dr. Saner stated that as the graduates graduate they were at a stage where they should take responsibilities for both their country; and for humanity in general. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Saner emphasised that graduation should not be perceived as ‘an end’ but rather a ‘beginning’ since the graduating students initiate a new phase of their lives. She further added her strong belief that the Near East University graduates will successfully represent the University wherever they go and reminded the graduates that as before, Near East university School of Tourism and Hotel Management will continue to provide support to its students even after graduation.

Prof. Dr. Bektaş: “Our students will be awarded their well-deserved diplomas after meticulously working throughout their 4-year educational lives at the Near East University!”
During his speech, Vice Rector of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Şenol Bektaş, pointed out how happy he was to be among the graduating students. He expressed that soon after, the graduates will be awarded their well-deserved diplomas which they meticulously worked towards throughout their 4-year educational lives at the Near East University. He congratulated the students and wished them the best of luck in their future lives.

Subsequent to the opening speeches, on behalf of the graduating Turkish Students, Aslı Çetin, made a speech; whereas on behalf of the graduating overseas students, Saadettin Egakak made a speech. Then, before the diplomas were presented to the graduates, Near East University Dance Group made a performance which was highly liked.

It was pointed out that the graduation ceremony ended with the excitement of graduates being rewarded their diplomas as a result of hard work during their educational lives at the Near East University.
