-Near East University Robotic Football Team will be participating in the World Cup for the fifth time….

Developed at the Near East University Innovation and Information Technologies Centre laboratory, NEUIslanders Robotic Football Team has won the opportunity to participate to the Robotic Football Tournament for the fifth time.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the NEU Robotic Football Team, developed at the NEU Innovation and Information Technologies Centre, will be participating in the world’s most prestigious organisation RoboCup 2016, which will be held on 30th June-4th July in Leipzig, Germany.

Near East University Robotic Football Team is the only team from Turkey, and one among the 4 teams to represent Europe…

It was revealed that a total of 22 teams from 15 different countries will be participating the Robotic Football World Cup, RoboCup 2016, which will be held in Leipzig On 30th June- 4th July 2016. Furthermore, it was pointed out that NEUIslanders was the only team among the Turkish Universities to participate in the tournament and one among the four teams to represent Europe.

Ahmet Çağman: “We are rather proud to be participating in the Robotic Football Tournament once again; we have been preparing for this tournament over the past 10 months…”

NEUIslanders Robotic Football Team Project Leader Ahmet Çağman expressed that they were rather pleased and proud to be participating in the tournament for the fifth time. He added that they have been working hard so as to achieve good results at the the robotic football tournament. He emphasised that they had been preparing to the tournament over the past ten months and that they were determined to do t he best they can at the robotic football matches.

Ersin Aytaç: “We are aiming to be among the first 8 teams!”

Also making a statement on the matter, NEUIslanders Robotic Football Team Captain Ersin Aytaç expressed that they were aiming to be among the first 8 teams of the football tournament. He pointed out that they had first participated to the tournament in Mexico in 2012, later in Holland in 2013, then in Brazil in 2014, and recently in China in 2015. He stressed that this year, they will be participating for the fifth time in the Robotic Football World Cup.
