The Near East University Robotic Football Team was defeated 1-0 by Brazil's Universidade Federal de Pernambuco in the quarter-final match of the International World Football Cup held in Sydney, Australia.

Near East University Robotic Football Team started the match with harsh attacks against its rival, however, was unable to brake the defence and score a goal in the first half of the match. In the second half of the match, NEUIslanders challenged its opponent with a more aggressive tactic. However, Near East University Robotic Football Team scored a goal to its own goal post accidentally just 30 seconds before the end of the match, as a result of the opponent's corner kick which hit to the NEUIslanders' defender and went to the goal post of NEUIslanders. Continuing the full-field press for the rest of the match, however, NEUIslanders lost the match 1-0 and left the tournament.

On the last day of the tournament, there will be training matches for next year.
