Near East University researchers represented Northern Cyprus at the international conference titled “Advances in Science and Engineering Technology ASET 2024” organized by the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai.

At the conference, attended by participants from many countries around the world, Near East University researchers shared the results of six different multidisciplinary studies they conducted in the fields of health and engineering by using multi-criteria decision making and artificial intelligence applications with the scientific world. In the conference, where Near East University Health Operations Center Director Prof. Dr. Dilber Uzun Özşahin chaired the session, Near East University DESAM Research Institute Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel made a presentation titled “Prediction of Possible Future Epidemics by Applying Artificial Intelligence-Based Models with Improved Hybrid Techniques: Which Agents and When?”

Near East University researchers shared their scientific studies in Dubai!

Near East University researchers shared the results of multidisciplinary studies conducted in the fields of health and engineering by utilizing multi-criteria decision making and artificial intelligence applications at the conference. The conference, where information on the prediction of future pandemics with artificial intelligence, the artificial intelligence learning model in the classification of abdominal Computed Tomography (CT) scans were conveyed, addressed topics including the use of artificial intelligence in the prediction of diseases related to the heart and blood vessels. In addition, six different research results were presented at the conference, including the comparison of biological markers used for the definition, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of brain cancer using the multi-criteria decision making method, the comparison of treatment protocols related to breast cancer, and the comparison of risks in cervical cancer. The results of these studies conducted by Near East University researchers will also be published in internationally respected journals.

The conference also presented the results of joint studies conducted by Near East University and Sharjah University researchers within the scope of the cooperation protocol between the two institutions.
