Near East University receives First Prize from Europe

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Çerkez Ergören, teaching member of Near East University, Faculty of Medicine, Medical Biology Department and researcher of Experimental Health Sciences Research Center (DESAM) conferred upon the best presentation award of Prof. Mariapia Viola-Magni, European Biotechnology Thematic Networking Society (EBTNA) at the European Biotechnology Congress.

In the statement made by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of the Near East University, in the Dubrovnik city of Croatia, about 90 oral presentations and about 300 poster presentations were presented by nearly 400 scientists at the European Biotechnology Congress. In the European Biotechnology congress, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Çerkez Ergören has been awarded the first prize for the best verbal presentation with his study entitled "Control of trans and cis regulation in the human genome".

Asst. Assoc. Dr. In his work, Ergören focused on human genome dynamics, particularly on the control of meiotic recombination in human chromosomes.
