Near East University ranked among the top 400 universities worldwide in “physics” on the “2024 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects” list announced by Shanghai Ranking, sharing first place in this field with Boğaziçi and Bilkent universities in Turkey. In the “mathematics” field, where it ranked in the 401-500 band, it ranked among the top three universities in Turkey.
Adding another to its national and international achievements, Near East University became the only university from the TRNC on the “2024 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects – Global Ranking in Academic Fields 2024” list announced by Shanghai Ranking. In the list of Shanghai Ranking, which assesses world universities according to their academic performance, Near East University ranked among the top 400 universities worldwide in “physics”, sharing first place in this field with Boğaziçi and Bilkent universities in Turkey. In the field of “mathematics”, which it ranks in the 401-500 band, it was among the top three universities in Turkey.

The fields of “physics” and “mathematics”, in which Near East University is among the best universities in the world, are the most important branches of basic sciences and are among the driving forces of scientific production.
