The Near East University Masters Swimming Team, competing in the “May 19th Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day International Masters Summer Long Course Swimming Championship” held in Izmir, won 1 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
The Near East University Masters Swimming Team achieved a significant success with their results at the “May 19th Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day International Masters Summer Long Course Swimming Championship”, organized by the Türkiye Swimming Federation in Izmir. The team, consisting of Mustafa Yeşilada, Güven Güvenir, and Hasan Deniz Akbora, won 1 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals, achieving podium finishes in almost every branch they competed in.
The championship, held as part of the May 19th Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day celebrations, brought together masters swimmers from various cities in Turkey and abroad. Mustafa Yeşilada, Güven Güvenir, and Hasan Deniz Akbora, who trained for the championship at the Near East University Olympic Swimming Pool, left their mark in the competition with their achievements.
They Collected Medals: 1 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals
Mustafa Yeşilada won the gold medal in the 100-meter backstroke category, becoming the Turkish champion. Yeşilada also came second in the 200-meter backstroke and third in the 50-meter backstroke.
Güven Güvenir achieved podium finishes in all four categories he competed in. He came second in the 100-meter backstroke, 50-meter backstroke, and 200-meter individual medley, and third in the 50-meter freestyle.
Hasan Deniz Akbora also contributed to the Near East University team’s medal tally by coming third in the 50-meter backstroke.
