Near East University Makes Strong Participation in TÜRKTIP 2025

Near East University, shared its innovative research and projects in healthcare with the scientific community with its 26 academics with its strong participation in the “1st International Turkish-Speaking Countries Medical Congress” held in Cyprus.

The “1st International Turkish-Speaking Countries Medical Congress,” held by the Turkish-Speaking Countries Medical Association, was carried out in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus under the theme “The Future is Very Soon.” Near East University was also a stakeholder in the congress, and was attended by Turkish Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu and TRNC Minister of Health Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek.

Bringing together academics, clinicians, researchers, and representatives of the healthcare industry from various disciplines, the congress provided an opportunity to discuss the future of healthcare on a common platform. The event aimed to increase scientific interaction between countries, strengthen the global recognition of the domestic healthcare industry, and develop regional collaborations. Participants had the opportunity to share the latest developments in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotic surgery, telemedicine, and advanced technology applications in healthcare. The program also included roundtable discussions, start-up meetings, panels, workshops, and special sessions such as the “Organ Donation and Transplantation Symposium.” TÜRKTIP2025, which aims to strengthen interdisciplinary interaction, has become a significant information-sharing platform in critical areas such as emergency medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, surgery, minimally invasive techniques, and cancer treatments.

Strong participation from Near East University!

The congress, which brought together numerous scientists and physicians from the Turkic world, featured a strong team from Near East University, sharing its innovative research and projects in healthcare with the scientific community. Near East University participated in the congress with 26 academics, including 12 speakers and panelists, 4 course coordinators, and 10 oral presentations.

The congress was attended by Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müjdat Salih Balkan, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Gamze Mocan, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören, Department of Child Health and Diseases Faculty Member and President of the Cyprus Turkish Medical Association Prof. Dr. Ceyhun Dalkan, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation Prof. Dr. Gülay Eren, Head of the Technology Transfer Office (NERITA), Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören, Head of the Synthetic Biology Research and Technology Center Prof. Dr. Mehmet Öztürk, Director of the Experimental Health Sciences Research Institute Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel, as well as numerous academics and researchers attended the congress. Near East University students also attended the congress.

Rectors Gather in the First Session!

The 1st International Turkish-Speaking Countries Medical Congress began with a session attended by university rectors from the Turkic world. The session, titled “Collaboration in Health Education among Turkish-Speaking Countries” featured the speeches of Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Rector of the Health Sciences University Prof. Dr. Kemalettin Aydın, Rector of Nakhchivan State University Prof. Dr. Elbrus Isaev, Rector of Eastern Mediterranean University Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, Vice Rector of Samarkand State Medical University Prof. Dr. Nargiza Abdullaeva, and Chair of the Executive Board of the Council of Deans of Medical Faculties of Turkey Prof. Dr. Ümit Süleyman Şehirli.

The session, which reviewed previous studies in the field of higher education, also discussed necessary steps for the future. The importance of developing human resources for the Turkic World was emphasized, and the critical role of medical education in this process was particularly emphasized. The need for concrete steps such as joint curriculum studies was emphasized, and a call was made for increased academic cooperation between the countries.

Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ emphasized their close collaboration with numerous universities in the Turkic world, saying, “The academic collaboration protocols we have signed with approximately 40 universities in Turkey and 43 universities from more than 20 countries abroad are yielding concrete results that strengthen knowledge production, research capacity, and science diplomacy. The strongest links in this network are undoubtedly Turkey, as well as fellow Turkic republics such as Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.”

Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ also said, “We are a university that effectively implements scientific collaborations through joint projects and research. I wholeheartedly believe that we will build a healthier future together with the collective strength of the Turkic world by joining hands on the path of science and brotherhood.”
