Near East University Jiu Jitsu Team aims to get four gold medals at the “London Winter International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship

The NEU JJB Team, which consists of Dr. Aziz Suat Günsel, Diogo Moraes Azevedo, Dr. Ulaş Yavuz, Deniz Erdağ, Kani Bilginaylar and Şirvan Akdemir, is determined to be the World Champion at the London Winter International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship.

Near East University Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (NEUJJB) team, will be taking part in the London Winter International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship that is organised by the International Brazil Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, London Winter International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship will be held on 23rd February 2019 and the Near East University will be represented by a team of 5, NEU JJB Team, including the Head Coach Diogo Moraes Azevedo.

Dr. Aziz Suat Günsel, will be competing in the blue belt category…The Goal is to be World Champion…
The Championship will be held at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre and the five athletes of NEU JJB Team will be takin part in five different categories. The championship will be held in total of 8 categories, with regard to age group and belt categories and Head Coach of NEUJJB Diogo Moraes Azevedo, will be taking part in Super Heavy Weight, Black Belt; Dr. Aziz Suat Günsel, Ultra Heavy Weight Blue Belt; Deniz Erdağ Middle Weight Master 2, Blue Belt; Hasan Ulaş Yavuz, Super Heavy Weight Master3 Blue Belt; Kani Bilginaylar Master 1 Middle, Blue Belt; and finally Şirvan Akdemir, Light Weight, White Belt with the aim to be awarded gold medals.

Four Golds are targeted…
Making a statement regarding the matter, Head Coach of Near East University Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (NEUJJB) Diogo Moraes Azevedo, stated that they were aiming to get four gold medals at this championship to which hundreds of highly talented athletes will be participating in. Furthermore, he expressed that as a team, they had been following a strict and disciplined nutrition and training program while preparing for the championship. Azevedo added that by using the required techniques, they will be winning a triumph over their opponents and in fact put forward their best combat skills to attain their goal; and get their gold medals.

Head Coach Avezado has previously made his mark in the World Championship…
It was pointed out that Head Coach of Near East University Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team Diogo Moraes Azevedo, previously participated in the ACBJJ World Open Championship held in Moskov and made his mark by becaming the champion of the Master 1 95 + Super Heavy category. To date, he is also expressed to have many gold, silver and bronze medals achieved in countries such as United States of America, Britain and Brazil.
