Near East University hosted the “International Kinesio Taping” for the second time

Near East University Centre of Excellence and Near East University Hospital Department of Thoracic Diseases, and Kinesio University jointly organised the second “International Kinesio Taping’” education at the Near East University.

The education and training were given by Kinesio University academicians Prof. Dr. Gül Baltacı and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nihan Özünlü Pekyavaş, and Kinesiotaping 1-2 Basics and Advanced Techniques and Concepts Education were given. It was pointed out that a total of 17 physiotherapists attended the Kinesio Taping 1 and Kinesio Taping 2 courses and successful participants were awarded international certificates accredited by the Kinesio University.

It was stated that Kinesio was a rehabilitative technique which facilitates the natural healing process of the body alongside providing stability and support to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation. The Kinesio education and training provided at the Near East University was offered in two phases KT1 and KT2. The first phase included muscle techniques whereas the second phase involved mechanic, space, lymphatic and circulatory, functional, fascia, ligament and tendon correction methods. All the techniques mentioned at the education and training courses were supported by scrutinising cases. Participants who successfully completed the courses were awarded international certificates accredited by Kinesio University.

Making a statement on the matter, Prof. Dr. Finn Rasmussen expressed that the Kinesio education and training provided had international recognition and they felt rather happy and proud to host the 2nd International Kinesio Taping education at the Near East University. Prof. Dr. Finn Rasmussen further expressed that they as the Near East University Hospital were always on the lookout for contemporary methods for patients and Kinesio was therapeutic taping technique not only offering support to patients but also rehabilitating their affected condition as well.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Nedime Serakıncı stated that they had initiated cooperation with Kinesio University and offered the first education and training in August 2016. She added that they were honoured and proud to have realized the education and training on Kinesio taping as it had international recognition. She ended her words by thanking everybody involved in realising the event.

Near East University Hospital Department of Thoracic Diseases Cardiopulmonary Rehabiltation Unit Authority Specialist Physiotherapist Şahveren Çakartaş stated that Kinesiotaping technique could be applied to patients with respiratory and cardiac diseases since the techniques could be administered to muscle, skeletal system problems, in the treatment of neurologic and paediatric diseases and in the correction of mechanical and functional impairments.
