The Women's Basketball Team of the Near East University beat France's BLMA team by 80-56 and they finished their second game in the EuroLeague with victory as well.

According to the info released by the Near East University Sports Club, Near East University Women’s Basketball Team faced the French team BLMA on Wednesday 18 October 2017 at 21:00 (Turkey's local time) at Palais des Sports de Lattes in Montpellier, France. The Near East University started the game with Quanitra Hollingsworth, Courtney Vandersloot, Kyla McBride, Elin Eldebrink and Ann Wauters. The periods were completed as 13-25, 28-46, 40-65, and 56-80.

During the first period, the Near East University exhibited a great performance to grasp and get the game. Having been effective in defense and offence, the versatile players of the Near East University scored 25 points and completed the period overwhelmingly by a score of 13 - 25.

In the very early seconds of the second period, NEU's new transfer, Jantel Lavender got inside the paint and drove the ball to basket (13-27). The scorer players of the Near East University brought the score to 17- 33 through two-point and three-point shots towards the seventh minute of the second period. Continuing to dominate the game by crashing the boards and handing out significant assists to scorers, Near East University brought the score difference up to 18 points and completed the first half of the game victoriously by 28-46. With 13 points, Kayla McBride was the top scorer player of the first half.


Starting the third period with score advantage, the Near East University exhibited a great performance by outscoring its opponent in the third period of the game.

Without resting on its score advantage, and without compromising effective performance, the Near East University started the third period with a great team spirit based on 'team first' mentality. This period, the French rival tried to fight back but the versatile players of the Near East University gave them no way through tough zone defense. The Near East University dominated this period completely and left the basketball-court victoriously by 40-65.

BLMA started the last period effectively and brought the score to 48-67 in first two minutes of the period. However, the Near East University had no intension to give up. The veteran players of NEU exhibited very effective zone defense to stop the scorer players of BLMA while the scorers of NEU kept driving the ball to basket. In the last minute of the game Elin Eldebrink and Ann Wauters brought the score to 56-80 with their significant shots. The Near East University defeated BLMA by a net score 56-80.
