Near East University, announcing that an alternative education model will be implemented through which face-to-face and online education will be supported by digital media in the Fall Semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year, took the necessary measures against the new coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and completed all preparations for face-to-face education.

According to the press statement made by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, during the 2020-2021 Academic Year Fall Semester, courses and classrooms were rearranged and made sparse within the framework of hygiene and social distance rules, by taking all necessary health measures. The areas where students touched on the campus have been disinfected in line with the necessary hygiene rules.

New seating arrangements in classrooms...
Within the scope of the measures and preparations taken; The interiors of the classrooms, lecture theaters and other classroom areas were rearranged according to the necessary hygiene and social distance rules. Hand sanitizer was placed at the entrance of the buildings and in other places. All of the people will wear masks at the university, according to the rules. Classrooms will be ventilated every day, cleaning and disinfection will be done frequently.

Measures were taken in social and physical environments...
Within the scope of the general cleaning of the school building before starting the educational activity; special measures were taken for every physical environment within the campus, such as laboratories, workshops, library, sports halls, toilet areas, canteens-cafeterias, and common areas. Masks, thermometers, disinfectants and social distance materials will be used continuously in every area. The tables in the canteens-cafeterias on the campus were rearranged according to the social distance rule.

The rules of social distance and mask in service vehicles...
School buses and other shuttle services, where service drivers were informed about Covid-19, will also be in service by reducing the number of students. A mask will definitely be used in the vehicle within the framework of service measures, and the service drivers will act in accordance with the personal hygiene rules. The rules to be followed regarding Covid-19 will be clearly shown in the vehicle. Vehicles will be disinfected and cleaned every day.

Stating that the health of students and employees is more important than all issues, Near East University Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeter Tabur said that after the new coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, a new order has also been formed in education and that they will continue education in the 2020-2021 Academic Year by using both face-to-face education and distance education opportunities together. Stating that the class size will be divided into groups for face-to-face education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeter Tabur said, “As Near East University, we are making the best possible use of the extraordinary situation we are in, taking all precautions to reduce the educational losses of our students as much as possible. The seating arrangement in classrooms and lecture halls was rearranged in accordance with the officially determined distance rules. Everywhere was cleaned and disinfected in accordance with hygiene rules. We strive to ensure that our students receive education in a healthy, safe and clean environment. In addition to face-to-face education, we have completed all our infrastructure preparations for distance education ”.
