Near East University gives first aid training in early childhood for preschool teacher candidates

Preschool teaching is on the one hand one of the most important stages to make children ready for elementary school, and on the other hand, to prepare them for social life. Preschool teachers, who are with the children in this period, spend their professional lives guiding the children’s journey. Apart from knowing the children mentally and emotionally, their first aid knowledge and skills can save the lives of children in emergencies that they may encounter.

Aiming to train preschool teacher candidates fully equipped, the Near East University Atatürk Education Faculty Preschool Teaching Department cooperated with Lifelong Education Center (YABEM) and organized first aid trainings about early childhood for preschool teacher candidates.

100 teacher candidates attended the training
The trainings carried out under the coordinatorship of Near East University Atatürk Education Faculty Preschool Education Department Lecturer Assist. Prof. Dr. Dervişe Amca Toklu, lasted for two weeks. The first week continued with a training seminar in which theoretical information was conveyed, and the second week continued with practical training. The training was given by Dr. Mehmet İlker Gelişen who was assisted by Lara Miçoğlu and Haluk Keklik, students of Dr. Gelişen.

The training sessions were attended by lecturers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şeniz Şensoy, Assist. Prof. Dr. Dervişe A. Toklu, Assist. Prof. Dr. Şebnem G. Kan and Specialist Hulin Sıddık and more than 100 preschool teacher candidates and graduates.
