It was announced that Faculty of Sports Sciences of Near East University held a charity bazaar with a slogan as “We are also in the fight against cancer” to support Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation for Children with Leukaemia and Cancer.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the charity bazaar received a lot of interest and the products which the Near East University Faculty of Sports Sciences prepared were sold for charity. It was announced that the event had also been an opportunity for faculty students to spend quality time with the NEU academic members. Furthermore, as a result of the charity bazaar everyone involved was happy to have been able to touch another child fighting against cancer.

Providing further details, it was expressed that the total amount collected through sales made at the bazaar was donated to Kemal Saraçoğlu Foundation for Children with Leukaemia and Cancer. Additionally, a dance performance was made at the charity bazaar by the Near East University Dance Club students’ alongside musical performances made by music group titled as "Gece Vardiyası"; all adding an additional ‘flavour’ to the event.

It was announced that the Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ and Dean of NEU Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Mehtap Tiryakioğlu also supported the meaningful event. Making a statement on the matter they expressed that events such as the one carried out were quite significant since they were a part of the social responsibility and that there was a need for more and more social responsibility events for the community. They added that Near East University Faculty of Sports Sciences will be continuing to organise events alike.
