Near East University Faculty of Engineering Graduates Received Their Diplomas…

Near East University Faculty of Engineering 2018-2019 Academic Year Spring Term Graduation Ceremony was held with great enthusiasm at Atatürk Culture and Congress Center.

According to the information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Near East University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenol Bektaş, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özsöz, faculty members, graduating students and their families participated in the ceremony which started with the reading of the National Anthem and a minute of silence.

In the ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özsöz, Boshra Alzaibaq from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the valedictorian of the faculty, and Emel Altınbaş, the salutatorian in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, made the second speech on behalf of the graduates who spoke Turkish. A musical ceremony was also performed.

“The Successful Work of Our Young Engineers Will Honor Us…”
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, who made the opening speech of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özsöz addressed the graduating young engineers and said, “You have successfully completed a challenging process of your education. When you look back, you will all see that you have gone through a tough training in this process. Today, each of you is now a young engineer responsible for yourself and your families, as well as for your country and the world. We believe that with the contemporary and highest level information and training we have provided you with will help you to quickly climb the career steps and achieve significant successes in a short time. You will glorify the Near East University and honor us with your achievements..."

”Prof. Dr. Özsöz adviced the students to be honest, hardworking and productive individuals dedicated to human values, and and said "Do not forget that success follows you only when you create values. You have to be successful not only for yourself and your family, but also for your country and humanity. I demand from you not to forget your families who dedicated their lives for your achievements since your birth, and the university that trained you in the best possible way, I wish you all the best in your future life. God speed you... ’

"We will embrace life stronger with the education we have received…"
Emel Altınbaş, the salutatorian of the faculty and the valedictorian of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, spoke on behalf of Turkish-speaking students; "We all came to the Near East University from different countries, from different cities, with different dreams. We are ending up the journey now we had started here 4 years ago. The real challenge for us is now beginning. However, we will embrace life more strongly by overcoming the difficulties of life with the knowledge and experiences we have added to ourselves during our education. First of all, I would like to thank my Head Teacher Mustafa Kemal Atatürk for everything I have learned, and all my teachers who contributed to my education and the Near East University for providing us with this distinguished opportunity. Moreover, today I also would like to thank my family, my biggest supporter, who supported me up to this point. I wish all my graduate friends luck, success and happiness in their future lives. May God speed us.”
