As part of their Social Service Applied module, 4th year students of Department of Psychological Counselling and Guidance of Atatürk Faculty of Education of Near East University prepared a video on “Child neglect and abuse”.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, the video was prepared with the help of Specialist Yasemin Sorakın to raise awareness on emotional neglect and abuse which children encounter.

Providing further details, it was pointed out that the scenario of the video was prepared in coordination with the NEU Faculty of Communication. Moreover, Academic Member of the Department of Psychological Counselling and Guidance Yasemin Sorakın made a statement and expressed that high interest was shown to the video. She emphasised that any type of neglect and/or abuse left permanent damage. In addition to physical traces, she stressed that child neglect and abuse left lasting emotional defects.
