Near East University Faculty of Arts and Sciences graduates received their diplomas at a ceremony

Near East University Faculty of Arts and Sciences 2021-2022 academic year spring semester graduates received their diplomas at a ceremony. The ceremony, in which 200 students have had graduation enthusiasm, started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem.

At the ceremony, Near East University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Near East University Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul and on behalf of graduate students, the top graduate of the faculty Sadık Ahmet Bölükbaşı gave speeches. After the speeches, the graduates who received their diplomas threw up their caps with great enthusiasm.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt: “As a graduate of Near East University, on the basis of all your knowledge, there are scientific reason, scientific method, ethics and dedication to service to society.”
Starting his speech by stating that scientists and artists give meaning to everything in a unique way, Near East University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt said, “The common point of science and art is that everyday things seem new and attractive to them.” Addressing the graduates, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt said that they should always be creative, investigative, questioning and critical, “Graduation is a beginning. Beginnings, on the other hand, are indispensable for development and moving forward. The education you receive at the Near East University is structured on the fact that you can always make a good start.”

“Place production, putting your products at the service of society, at the center of your life. Do not be afraid to make a decision, be proud of your choices,” saying Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt added; “Remember that as a graduate of Near East University, the basis of all your knowledge is scientific reason, scientific method, ethics and a dedication to serving the society. I wish you to be at the center of the greatest achievements.”

Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul: “The vision of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences is to raise self-sufficient young people who will challenge classical stereotypes and have modern, scientific, technological and cultural knowledge.”
In his speech at the ceremony, Near East University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul started by pointing out that the Faculty of Arts and Sciences is the first faculty of Near East University to be established. Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul said “Faculties of Arts and Sciences, in other words, faculties of basic sciences are faculties that are indispensable for a university. The vision of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences is to raise self-sufficient young people who will challenge classical stereotypes and have modern, scientific, technological and cultural knowledge.”

Stating that one of the most important goals of the Near East University is to raise individuals who gain new knowledge and interpretations in their fields, Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul said, “You have come to the end of a difficult four-year process. Now it’s time to fly out of the nest. I congratulate you all. May your path and good fortune be open.”

Sadık Ahmet Bölükbaşı: “We are proud to graduate from the Near East University as the soldiers of the science of psychology, which is based on the principles of contemporary science and strives for the well-being of all individuals by paying attention to human rights.”
Sadık Ahmet Bölükbaşı, a graduate of the Near East University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology, started his speech on behalf of all graduates by expressing his thoughts on the psychology branch he graduated from. Bölükbaşı said, “As the soldiers of the science of psychology, which takes its foundations from the principles of contemporary science and strives for the well-being of all individuals, by paying attention to human rights, we are proud to graduate from the Near East University.”
