Organized for the 91st time in the first week of September, Izmir International Fair was held this year with the main themes of agriculture and gastronomy. The fair also attended by Near East University Faculty of Agriculture Dean Prof. Dr. Özge Özden; In particular, the “Terra Madre” gastronomy event, which is organized every two years in Turin, Italy by by the Slow Food initiative, which stands out as one of the largest food movements in the world, was held in Izmir with the concept of “Anatolia” this year.

At the fair, where all the samples of Anatolian cuisine and agricultural products are exhibited and local and international food associations participate, many activities such as workshops, culinary workshops and exhibitions were held.

The Blessings of Anatolia on the World Table
In the fair, which was held with the main title of “Anatolia’s Blessings on the World Table”, the “Slow Food” movement panel was held with international participants, where agriculture, agricultural activities, food production, healthy food issues were discussed. In the workshops attended by scientists from different universities in Turkey, topics such as healthy food, healthy nutrition, agriculture and food policies in local governments were discussed.

In addition, within the scope of the fair, many agricultural workshops led by Can Yücel Seed Center, Forest Workshop, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Workshop, Börtü Insect Workshop, Fish Recognition Workshop, Terra Madre Anatolian Green Food Diary Workshop and Compost Workshop were also held.
