Near East University Lifelong Learning Center (YABEM) and Faculty of Pharmacy will organize two short-term training programs in 2018 - 2019 academi year for all interested participants, especially for young people who will be health professionals.

According to the press statement released by the Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, brief roundtable training programs titled "Past, Present and Future of Cosmetic Products" and "Making the Right Use of Herbs for Health" carried out by the faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy will start in September on the Near East University campus.

The program program titled "Past, Present and Future of Cosmetic Products", which is the first of the two programs arranged by the faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, will be carried out by Assist. Prof. Dr. Yıldız Özalp, lecturer of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and will be open to everyone who wants to develop knowledge and skills.

Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli, Head of Phytotherapy Science from Faculty of Pharmacy and YABEM coordinator for Faculty of Pharmacy, said, "Our education programs on health and beauty are open to all the members of the Near East University and all of our people aiming to increase their quality of life."

Prof. Dr. Meriçli said the other short-term training program, "Making the Right Use of Herbs for Health" will be carried out by Prof. Dr. Selin Işık with her support. Dr. Meriçli explained the content of this short-lived education program as the organic production of plants, which are the main ingredients of food, medicine and cosmetics in our lives, production of herbal products, especially organic foods, and points to be aware of when taking these products; herbal medicines, beneficial and harmful conditions, as well as subjects related to plants for a healthy life.

Emphasizing that the developing technology and the modern methods are used intensively in the fields of pharmacy and cosmetics, and that the herbs continue to be the main source of medicine, the Director of Life Long Learning Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Koldaş said " the production and correct use of both the beauty cosmetic products and herbs for healthy life may only be possible by developing individual and social awareness. With these two programs, which will be developed by the precious scientists and expert practitioners of our university with a lifelong education approach, we aim to provide a scientific contribution to the application of cosmetic products and use of herbs for health as well as developing the knowledge and improving awareness of our program participants on cosmetic products and plants. Through these programs, we believe that participants will increase their quality of life and raise awareness in their lives by learning about the latest developments and best practices in herbal health products and cosmetic products. "
