Near East University will serve as a co-organizer of ICGSTM 2026, which will bring together academics and researchers from around the world in Malaysia. It will also contribute academically to the conference with 10 scientific poster presentations focusing on sustainability and digital transformation.
Near East University, ranked among the top 500 universities in the world, is adding another achievement to its international academic work in the fields of sustainable development, green technologies, and artificial intelligence. The Near East University Digital Education and Information Unit and the Social Development and Research Center (TAGEM) will be among the international co-organizers of the “5th International Green Sustainable Technology and Management Conference (ICGSTM 2026)”, hosted by INTI International University in Malaysia. Near East University academics will also contribute to the conference with 10 scientific poster presentations focusing on sustainability and artificial intelligence.
This year’s conference, themed “Innovative Approaches to Climate Resilience and Sustainable Transformation”, will bring together academics, researchers, public representatives, and private sector stakeholders from different countries around the world. The conference will showcase current research in the areas of combating climate change, green technologies, digital transformation, and sustainable governance, while experts from various disciplines will work together on common solutions. Researchers from numerous fields, ranging from engineering and education to health sciences and information technology, will participate, addressing topics such as climate change adaptation, low-carbon development, digital innovations, sustainable cities, and inclusive development.
On behalf of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Sezer Kanbul, Director of the Digital Education and Information Unit, and Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay and Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay, Heads of the Social Development and Research Center, will serve as co-organizers on the international organizing committee. Thus, the university will stand out not only for its scientific work but also for its active role in the planning and execution of international academic organizations.
10 Scientific Posters from Near East University!
Near East University will contribute to the conference’s scientific program with 10 academic posters focusing on sustainability and artificial intelligence. The posters were prepared by Zöhre Serttaş, Hakan Bağmen, Pelin Gür, Necibe Tekin, Bersun Erol Manavoğlu, Vedia Ese, and Murat Cem Acarlap, while the academic coordination is to be carried out by Prof. Dr. Sezer Kanbul, Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay, and Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay. A significant portion of the research focuses on topics prominent in the international academic agenda, such as environmentally friendly AI applications, digital transformation, educational technologies, digital well-being, accessibility, AI solutions developed for individuals with disabilities, sustainable development, and scientific trend analyses.
The international collaboration between DEBİM and TAGEM will further enhance the international visibility of Near East University’s research in the fields of sustainable development, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence. The university’s co-organizational role at the conference and the presentation of scientific posters will strengthen its effectiveness in international research networks, while also contributing to the sharing of scientific knowledge produced in the fields of education, technology, and social transformation with global academic circles. Thus, Near East University will continue to represent its scientific output in the fields of sustainability, combating climate change, inclusive education, and digital innovations more strongly on international platforms.
