Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education Department of Classroom Teaching students organized a “Reading Festival” at Near East Primary School

Teachers of the future, who continue their education at Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education, gave primary school students enjoyable moments with the “reading festival” they organized at Near East Primary School.
 

Students were encouraged to read books throughout the activity organized by Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education, Deputy Head of the Department of Classroom Teaching, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Köprülü and had a fun learning experience with the wheel of fortune, educational card games, proverbs and idioms, arousing curiosity, animation, Ataturk’s life, karaoke and various activities.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Köprülü: “Fun activities enable children to see reading books not only as a learning tool, but also as an enjoyable activity.”
Touching on the importance of fun activities that arouse curiosity in developing book reading habits in children, Near East University Atatürk Faculty of Education, Deputy Head of the Department of Classroom Teaching, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Köprülü said, “Curiosity triggers children’s desire to learn and helps draw them to the pages of books. Fun activities help children see reading books not only as a learning tool, but also as an enjoyable activity.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Köprülü stated that the reading festival they organized at Near East Primary School allowed our primary school students to establish a strong bond with books, and added; “On the other hand, it was a very valuable experience for our students who will be the classroom teachers of the future.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Köprülü also thanked Near East Primary School Principal Fatma Coşar and the teachers for hosting the reading festival.
