Dr. Mehmet İsfendiyaroğlu was appointed chief physician of the Near East University Animal Hospital, the only fully-equipped animal hospital in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Near East University Animal Hospital, serving with the approach of "healthy animals for healthy people" since 2014, offers many services for animal health, including surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal diseases and video diagnosis services with its laboratory equipped with the latest technology. Near East University Animal Hospital, which has the scientific competence of the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine behind it, serves with its experienced veterinary staff.

Chief Physician Mehmet İsfendiyaroğlu emphasized that the Near East University Animal Hospital has met a very important need on the island with its world-class fully equipped infrastructure and expert veterinarian staff since 2014, and said that they will continue to provide services with the same quality approach. Stating that the Near East Enterprises, together with 3 university hospitals, 2 dental hospitals and animal hospitals, have built a huge, integrated health infrastructure for serving the country, Dr. Mehmet İsfendiyaroğlu said, “The health services we provide to our living friends also indirectly have a significant impact on human health. For a healthy society and a sustainable world, we will continue to fulfill our responsibility on animal health and welfare, food safety and public health.”


Who is Dr. Mehmet İsfendiyaroğlu?
Born in 1963 in Tera village of Paphos, after completing his secondary and high school education in Nicosia, Dr. Mehmet İsfendiyaroğlu graduated from Istanbul University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which he entered in 1982, and graduated as the top student. Starting his career in the Veterinary Department in 1993, Dr. İsfendiyaroğlu worked at all levels of the department and retired as Chief Veterinarian-Director in July 2022.

He started his doctorate education at the Department of Animal Sciences at Istanbul University Health Sciences Institute in 1996 and completed it in 2002. Starting in 2016, he worked as a part-time lecturer at the Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Animal Sciences. Mehmet İsfendiyaroğlu has recently started working as the chief physician at the Near East University Animal Hospital. At the same time, he is a full-time Doctor Lecturer at the Department of Animal Sciences. İsfendiyaroğlu is married and has two children, and speaks Greek and English.
