Near East University and Hubei University from China signed a cooperation protocol in academic and research fields

Near East University signed a protocol with Hubei University, established in Wuhan, one of the important metropolises of China, to cooperate in academic and research fields. With the protocol signed by Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan and Hubei University Rector Prof. Dr. Liu Jianping, the two universities, in addition to their joint research activities, will cooperate to exchange students, scientific resources, researchers, faculty members and administrative members, and to organize bilateral academic programs.

With more than 1,600 scientific articles published in 2021, Near East University ranked 552th among 15,175 universities in the “Best Universities 2022” list of AD Scientific Index. Near East University is in the 301-400 band in the field of “Electrical and Electronics Engineering” in the “2022 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects” list, which was recently announced by the China-based Shanghai Ranking, which was created by evaluating 5 thousand universities from 196 countries. With Koç University and Bilkent University, NEU became one of the three Turkish universities to be ranked in the list in this field.

Stating that Near East University continues to represent the TRNC in the scientific world by collaborating with more than 150 institutions and universities from different countries in the academic and research fields, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel said, “The collaborations we have been carrying out in order to increase our scientific activity and productivity, and to ensure that our scientists and students can integrate with the world much faster, also pave the way for us to serve humanity by sharing the opportunities we have and the ability to produce science with the world.”

Stating that the cooperation protocol they signed with Hubei University from China is also important in this respect, Prof. Dr. Günsel said that they believe they will carry out many collaborative studies with Hubei University.
