Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yeniasır, Prof. Dr. Burak Gökbulut, and Dr. Tülay Kaya Tekman from Near East University were awarded the “Best Paper Award” at an international congress held in Kazakhstan, attended by 283 academics from 27 different countries.
Academics from the Turkish Language Teaching Department of the Atatürk Faculty of Education of Near East University, which is among the top 500 universities in the world, were awarded the “Best Paper Award” at the international scientific congress held in Kazakhstan. Dr. Tülay Kaya Tekman, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yeniasır, and Prof. Dr. Burak Gökbulut, faculty members of the Turkish Language Teaching Department of the Atatürk Faculty of Education at Near East University, were awarded the “Best Paper Award” for their presentations at the “12th International EMI Entrepreneurship & Social Sciences Congress” held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The international congress was hosted by Turan University. The congress brought together academics from different countries in the fields of entrepreneurship and social sciences. A total of 283 academics from 27 different countries participated, addressing scientific research, interdisciplinary approaches, and current social issues.
Near East University faculty members received great acclaim for their paper titled “Examination of Views on a Common Turkic Alphabet: A Study on Turkic World Students in Cyprus.” Focusing on student views regarding common alphabet studies in the Turkic world, the research was honored with the “Best Paper Award” by the congress scientific committee for its original contributions to cultural unity, language policies, and the development of a common communication platform.

The academics involved in the research made statements regarding their award-winning work. Dr. Tülay Kaya Tekman stated, “The recognition of our research in such a distinguished academic environment has provided us with significant motivation to further advance our scientific work. We are happy to have been able to contribute to common alphabet studies by presenting the views of Turkic world students using scientific methods.” Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yeniasır, emphasizing that a common Turkic alphabet is an important issue with scientific, cultural, and social aspects, said, “Every scientific study that contributes to strengthening common cultural ties among the Turkic world is of great importance.”
