Near East Unıversity Robotic Football Team NEUIslanders have become European 3rd

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University,as a result of a very competetive tournament which was held in Holland, NEUIslanders Robotıc Football Team achived to the Eurpean 3rd. Furthermore, it was revaeled that the NEUIslanders team consisted of Nurullah AKKAYA, Görkem SAY, Fatih EMREM, Murat ARSLAN, Berk YILMAZ and Seyhan HÜSEYİN.

Making a statement on the matter, Team captain Nurullah AKKAYA expressed that the team had achieved this result due to the previously provided support by the Near East University. He further added that this achievement had motivated them for the next tournament, Robo.cup 2016 to be held in Leipzig, Germany. Moreover, he expressed that this current tournament had also made them aware of the issues which needed further improvement. He further added that over the 3 month’s period to the world cup, they would be working very hard, hoping to achieve to be among the first eight teams of the RoboCup, 2016.

22 teams from 15 different countries will be competing in RoboCup 2016.

RoboCup will be taking place on 30 June-4th July, 2016 and 22 teams from 15 different countries will be competing in the international robotics competition. It was pointed out that NEUIslanders will be representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and that NEUIslanders was the only Turkish team, sent by the Turkish universities.

Ahmet Çağman: “We are rather happy to compete in a robotics football tournament for the fifth time; we have been preparing for this tournament over the past 10 months!”

Project leader of the NEUIslanders Robotik Football Team, Ahmet Çağman, expressed that this was the fifth time NEUISlanders would be participating in the world robotic cup and proudly added that they would be representing the Near East University. Moreover, he stressed that they had been working very hard and were aiming to return to the island with success.
