Tamer Levent, who took many roles as an actor, director and general manager in the State Theaters, and Turkish Cypriot artist Hazar Ergüçlü, will meet with their fans at the cultural and art-themed events organized by the Near East Enterprises Libraries to celebrate the 28 March – 3 April Library Week.

With 4 million printed books and 850 million digital resources, the Near East Enterprises Libraries, the greatest information treasure of the TRNC, will celebrate the 28 March – 3 April Library Week with culture and art talks, classical music concerts and book reading events. The events, which will be carried out with the main theme of culture and art, will start with a talk by the famous actor Tamer Levent on Tuesday, March 29 at 10:00. Tamer Levent, who took many roles as an actor, director and general manager at the State Theaters, took part in many movies and television series as well as theater plays. Levent, who also attracted attention with the “Yes to Art” project he pioneered, brings together many people who discuss whether art is a process, not a product, on the same platform. The integration of literature and art will be discussed in Tamer Levent’s interview, which will also be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of Near East University.


On Thursday, March 31, at 12:00, Turkish Cypriot artist Hazar Ergüçlü will meet with her fans with a live interview on the official YouTube channel of Near East University. Hazar Ergüçlü, who has acted in many cinema and television productions, especially in “Shadows and Faces” directed by Derviş Zaim and “Ahlat Tree” by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, will share her artistic adventure with the audience in the interview to be held.

As part of the events, the piano recital, which will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 15.00, will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Near East University.


Reading activities will be held with college students
Aiming to raise awareness about reading with the activities it will carry out during World Library Week, Near East Enterprises Libraries will organize a book reading event with Near East Yeniboğaziçi College students on March 29. On March 30, a book reading event will be held at the University of Kyrenia Grand Library with Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College and State Schools students.

During the Libraries Week, which will be celebrated for the 58th time this year, photos of book lovers reading in different areas, especially in the Near East Enterprises Libraries, will be shared on social media with the hashtags #KitapOkuyoruz2022, #YakınDoğuOluşumKütüphaneleri, #58KH.
