On August 30th, Victory Day, which commemorates the 103rd anniversary of the Great Offensive, the Battle of Dumlupınar, the doors of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, the Cyprus Car Museum, and the Walled City Museum will be open to visitors.

As the 103rd anniversary of Victory Day is celebrated, the museums of the Near East Institution continue to welcome art, history, and culture enthusiasts on this special day. Those wishing to combine the joy of the holiday with art, history, and technology can visit the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, the Cyprus Car Museum, the Walled City Museum, and other museums within the Near East Enterprises throughout the holiday.

The Cyprus Car Museum showcases over 150 classic cars, spanning the period from the early 1900s to the present day. Among the museum’s most valuable pieces is a 1901 Crest Mobile. Symbolic vehicles of the era, such as the 1903 Wolseley, the 1909 Buick, the 1918 T Ford Runabout, and the 1930 Willys Overland Whippet Deluxe, offer visitors a journey throughout time. Sports cars such as the 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS, Jaguar, Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, Dodge Viper SRT10 Final Edition, and Ford GT 40 are also among the collection’s most popular pieces.

The museum, which isn’t limited to automobiles, offers a diverse exploration for young and old alike, with its “Koi Fish” pond, model car collections, Batman and Transformers figures, model ships, and toys made from machine parts.

Thousands of Artworks at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art

Located opposite the Cyprus Car Museum, the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art presents art lovers with the works of approximately 3,000 artists from 14 Turkish communities. Visitors will have the opportunity to examine sculptures and paintings at the museum, including a collection of knives and swords, ship models, a collection of hand-made glassware, clothing, jewelry, and models from various cultures and periods, all under one roof.

The meeting point of art and history: The Walled City Museum!

Located in the Walled City district of Nicosia, the Walled City Museum hosts important collections that bring Cypriot culture and history to the present day. Each floor displays works from a different style and period. The Walled City Museum houses a toy car collection, examples of swords and knives, over 70 sculptures, including hyperrealistic silicone sculptures of iconic figures of Turkish Cypriot culture, paintings, objects related to maritime history, and Karagöz figures.
