Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş, who underwent gallbladder surgery at the Near East University Hospital on the first day of the new year, was discharged today.

Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş, who applied to the Near East University Hospital yesterday morning with complaints of severe abdominal pain, underwent gallbladder surgery. Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müjdat Salih Balkan, who performed the surgery, made a statement about Minister Hüseyin Çavuş’ health condition.

The operation, performed by Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Salih Müjdat Balkan, Anesthesiologist Dr. Yeşim Taşeli and General Surgeon Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Özant, lasted about an hour. The gallbladder of Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş was removed with a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (closed gallbladder surgery).

Making a statement about the operation and health status of Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş, Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müjdat Salih Balkan said, “Mr. Hüseyin Çavuş applied to the emergency department of our hospital on the morning of January 1st with complaints of severe abdominal pain. As a result of the examination and tests, it was decided to perform gallbladder surgery due to gallstones.”

Prof. Dr. Balkan said, “The Minister was taken into emergency surgery and his gallbladder was successfully removed with the laparoscopic method. He was discharged in good health today after a one-day follow-up treatment after the surgery.
