As in all things, knowledge makes other processes easier. Since education in touch with nature, education specific to talents and brain teasers (mind games) are integral components of thorough and fun education and have a key role in developing the ability of using the knowledge to recognize critical information, Özay Günsel Children’s University adopts  “Learning by Doing and Practicing” system.

“Learning by Doing and Practicing” model constitutes an important building block of the education system to be implemented at Özay Günsel Children’s University, which is dedicated to providing all possibilities required to raise children as creative, innovative, critical thinking and entrepreneur individuals who are equipped with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and ethics, who adopt national and universal values and who are sensitive to nature and environment. Children also will be provided with opportunity to come together with key profiles such as scientists and artists at an early age within the body of the university.

By taking the intellectual and social requirements and development of the child into consideration, the programs offered by Özay Günsel Children’s University are designed in compliance with standards set by national and international bodies so as to encourage all children aged 6-17 years to try new experiences, develop new interests and acquire new skills through participation in innovative, creative and fun learning activities. In this regard, modules and learning activities have been tailored by taking into consideration some factors such as age and different abilities. These learning activities are designed to raise aspiration, encourage motivation, introduce new life experiences, and develop personal skills and progress learning in a welcoming and friendly educational environment.

World, Sun, Galaxy, Universe…
By taking into account the individual differences and age characteristics of the children, the University classifies the children into 4 groups and offers 4 distinct modules tailored to meet the requirements of each age group. In this regard, training modules titled “World” for children aged 06-08, “Sun” for children aged 09-11, “Galaxy” for children aged 12-14 and “Universe” for 15-17 age group students have been designed.

Özay Günsel Children’s University is devoted to provide all possibilities required for children to create a career profile by discovering their own temperaments, potentials, abilities, personalities and the role of their parents in their lives. The University’s educational and training modules will bring into effect the philosophy “If you listen, you will hear; If you look, you will see; If you touch, you will feel;  If you try, you will be”.

Touch, Discover, Create…
The variety of educational and instructional programs allows each student to choose the most appropriate one for the teaching module and learn by experience to design a city like a small architect, make cakes like cooks, examine human DNA like a physician, and to produce herbal drugs like a pharmacist. The wide range of facilities on the campus will provide the students with a cast of opportunities to involve in various activities. They will be able to get to know the animals better at the Animal Hospital of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The Sports Tower will provide them with opportunity to discover their sports potential and to engage in sport activities appropriate to their ages. The rare cars that exhibited in the Car Museum will inspire them to design the automobile of their dreams. They will also be able to experience the excitement of not only flying a plane as a pilot in a cockpit simulation but also navigating a ship as a shipmaster via maritime simulator.

Exploring Nature through On-Site Applications…
Exploring nature, which is a guide and good learning environment for instructors, will be used be used as a teaching tool to help students develop high-level mental skills as it helps to observe and explore the biodiversity and ecosystem. Through on-site applications and on-the-spot observations, the students will be able to learn well not only about the variety of plant and animal life in their surroundings but also about the importance of conservation of the environment. The children will also be able to learn about marine life through on-site applications at the coastal areas. These visits will also provide students with opportunity to have swim under the guidance of swim trainers and to get an idea about sea-turtles by observing them.

Mind Games…
The educational programs offered by Özay Günsel Children’s University, which are designed to enable the children to use their constructive power regarding their aspirations, interests, talents and goals during the multi-faceted development process, bring the top educational based mind games to classroom. Mind games, which are fun and challenging for students, allow students to be in collaboration while working towards common goals. Özay Günsel Children’s University adopts mind games as an integral component of proper education and consider these games as a great launching threshold not only for curiosity, investigation, critical thinking, teamwork, problem solving, processing speed, selectivity in perception, benchmarking, response control and decision making but also for developing visual attention and perception, visual screening, short-term memory, mathematical skills and alternative solutions. The overriding aim is to help students improve their cognitive abilities, attention and focus, thinking and reasoning abilities, problem solving skills and assist them in developing important life skills that will lead to a lifetime of successes.

Self Confidence, Language and Social Development…
Aiming to raise well equipped individuals, who are capable to be the pioneer of change and innovation, who are capable to form their own opinions and believes, who are capable to analyze and evaluate an issue objectively and express their ideas freely, Özay Günsel Children’s University has designed her teaching modules within the scope of this fundamental objective. The modules attach a special focus on paving the way for students towards developing self-confidence, abilities for self-recognition and self-expression as well as self-control, all of which are of great importance not only in school life but also in social life. Modules also provide a setting to develop interpersonal skills such as communication, cooperation, teamwork and leadership. Each module covers a wide range of academic and social skills. In this context, science-technology activities, music and swimming activities, mathematics, and basic physical skill activities will also be carried out.

Art Activities…
By taking into account the distinct modules based on specific ages, art activities will be tailored to develop creativity, which is one of the most important goals, in students of each distinctive module. A wide range of art activities ranging from marbling art to various printmaking and clay arts, all of which have an active role in developing the cognitive, emotional and aesthetical skills in children, will be carried out.
