Mevlânâ Celâleddîn Rûmî will be commemorated on the 750th anniversary of his death with international congresses and events organized by the Near East University Rumî Studies Institute between 14-17 December 2023

“8. International Celaleddin Rumi Scientific Congress” will be held at Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center between 14-17 December.

The international congress and commemoration events to be held on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of Mevlana’s death will bring together many academicians from home and abroad. Within the scope of the congress, where Rumi’s personality, literary personality, mysticism, Mevlevi philosophy and understanding will be discussed, six sessions will be held, three of which will be face to face.

In addition to local participants at the 8th International Scientific Rumi Congress, participants from Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Pakistan will present their papers. The papers presented at the congress will be published as a proceedings book by the Rumi Research Institute, in addition to scientific publications.

Head of the Near East University Rumi Research Institute, Prof. Dr. Ghadir Golkarian, who also assumed the chairmanship of the “8. International Celaleddin Rumi Scientific Congress” stated that the philosophy put forward by Mevlana is a unique guide focusing on love, tolerance and unity of humanity, and said, “His teachings carry a universal language of love that transcends borders, unites colors and unites each of us in common values.”
