At the event organized by the Directorate of Dormitories of Near East University and the Cyprus Turkish Orthopedically Handicapped Association, the university students chatted with their guests and accompanied the members of the CTOHA during their visit to the museums on the Near East University campus.

CTOHA members visited the exhibitions held at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Cyprus Car Museum, and the Near East University Hospital Exhibition Hall, which draw attention with their disabled-friendly architectures. After the museum visits, the Near East University Grand Library was also visited.

Works reflecting different periods of painters from different geographies were highly appreciated at the event, where the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art was first visited. The group, who viewed the painting, sculpture, wood-wood carving, marble-ceramic sculpture, clay shaping, metal sculpture and hand-made hunting knives, later moved to the Cyprus Car Museum, which stands out as the first and only car museum in Cyprus.

The group had an unforgettable day, seeing dozens of classic and sports cars exhibited at the Cyprus Car Museum, where cars from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries are exhibited. After the visit to exhibitions held at the Near East University Hospital Exhibition Hall, the Grand Library was also visited. After the visits, the handicapped persons and students had lunch and chatted.

Expressing that they always want to create opportunities where students and handicapped individuals can spend time together, not only due to the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 3 December, Near East University Dormitories Manager Recep Uğur Arslan said that one of their ultimate aims is aim to raise awareness for individuals with special needs to be a part of social life.

Expressing that every individual in the country has the right to access these special institutions where our cultural heritage is exhibited, Recep Uğur Arslan emphasized that Near East University museums are open to all members of the society under equal conditions.
