The delegation consisting of Vice-Rector for Near East Primary and Secondary Education Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan, Head of Near East Secondary Education Asım İdris, Near East Primary Education Head Ertan Aligüllü, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College Director Sermin Mine Haydar and Primary School Director İzzet Yılmaz visited Lapta Mayor Mustafa Aktuğ and gave information about the educational activities of Kyrenia College.

Lapta Mayor Mustafa Aktuğ, in a statement after the visit, expressed his wish that Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College will be beneficial to the people and students of Kyrenia. Emphasizing that Lapta is a rapidly growing district, Mustafa Aktuğ said that the population of foreign nationals living in the region is increasing day by day. Aktuğ, “The existence of a school, such as Suat Günsel Kyrenia College, which is experienced and knowledgeable in foreign language education, will meet an important need of Lapta ”.

Stating that they have cooperated with the Near East Enterprises in many projects so far, Mustafa Aktuğ added that this cooperation will continue in the future. Mustafa Aktuğ said, “We are very pleased that the Kyrenia region will bring students of different age groups together in laboratories, workshops and various learning areas to bring an education brand that allows them to learn together. Expressing that they are very honored to bring the Near East tradition, which has become a brand in education with the education curriculum covering foreign language education from preschool to university, to the children of Kyrenia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tüzünkan stated that they will raise individuals who will make a difference in the future of the country with an education that makes a difference.

Head of Near East Secondary Education Asım İdris said that they will take the student-centered education approach, which is one of the most important parts of the Near East education tradition, to Kyrenia with Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College. Emphasizing the importance they attach to foreign language education, İdris said, “In our school, Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel curriculum will be applied. German and French will be offered as a second foreign language option. We will raise our children as versatile individuals who are beneficial to the society they live in, by producing information through individual studies, school reinforcement studies, IGCSE and GCE exam preparations as well as sports, social and cultural activities in accordance with student levels."

Near East Primary Education Head Ertan Aligüllü said that they will start kindergarten and preschool education in February 2021. Reminding that foreign language education starts before school at Suat Günsel Kyrenia College, he said, "We are starting foreign language education from the ground up." Ertan Aligüllü said that by conducting English and bilingual education, French, mindfulness and values education, art, science and music workshops, they will ensure that every student has in-depth knowledge and skills in at least one art and one sports field.
