The 68th General Assembly Meeting of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), which is one of the largest student-run organizations representing medical students’ associations across the globe, was held in Portorož, Slovenia on 1-7 March 2019. Medical Students’ Association of Northern Cyprus (MSANC) has participated in the event and represented the medical students in our country successfully.

The Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University released that Sultan Jarboue Salaheldin, the President of the Medical Students' Association of Northern Cyprus, Irem Tekin, the General Secretary of MSANC, Asu Ozince, Vice President, who is in charge of internal affairs, and Simge Cibros, person in charge of Internship Exchange Program, attended the 68th General Assembly meeting of the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA).

Within the scope of the 68th General Assembly March Meeting of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), Portorož, Slovenia hosted an internship and research exchange fair with capacity building workshops. Participating in the fair, the MSANC delegation had made presentations introducing North Cyprus and Near East University Hospital. Attracting great attention of many member countries with their presentations, MSANC delegation had the opportunity to share information regarding internship and research exchange program.

Grounding on the contracts signed between MSANC and other medical students’ associations and within the determined quota and the scope of student exchange program, Medical Students' Association of Northern Cyprus will be able not only to host medical students from other IFMSA member countries but also to send medical students from Northern Cyprus to other countries for internship.

24 Medical Students from 18 Countries Will Be Able to Do Internship in Our Country... Medical Students from North Cyprus Will Go to Other Countries for Internship..."
Within the frame of the contracts signed between MSANC and other medical students' associations, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will play host 24 medical students from 18 countries for one-month internship in our country. Besides, medical students from Northern Cyprus, who will be selected for internship exchange program via an exam, will be able to do internship in other countries. Thus, medical students will have the opportunity not only to contribute to their professional developments by receiving both theoretical and practical training but also to get closely acquainted with natural beauties, social and cultural values of different countries.

All Kinds of Support is Provided...
Indicating that they would continue to support all students' clubs and associations to participate in such significant international events, the Student Dean Associate Professor Dudu Özkum Yavuz extended her appreciations to NEU Board of Trustees Chairman Associate Professor Irfan Günsel, NEU vice Rector Professor Tamer Şanlıdağ, and MSANC Supervisor Associate Professor Emil Mammadov for their vision and support regarding collaboration in internship and research exchange projects.
