Medical students around the world will meet at the Near East University!

Medical faculty students around the world will meet at the International Student Congress, which will be held for the first time by Near East University Faculty of Medicine students between 14-16 April.

Organized by the Near East University Medical Students Association (NEUMSA) operating under the Near East University Faculty of Medicine and the Dean of Students, and the Medical Students Association of Northern Cyprus (MSANC), the “1st International Student Congress of the Faculty of Medicine” will take place between 14-16 April in Nicosia. The student congress to be held with the title of “New Horizons in Medicine” will bring together students studying medicine in many countries, especially in the TRNC and Turkey. In the congress, whose face-to-face sessions will be held at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center, and online sessions will also be held simultaneously.

Focusing on new developments in medicine, the congress will be held with a multidisciplinary approach. At the “International Student Congress”, where the reflections of fields such as engineering and software in medicine will be discussed, papers on the applications of artificial intelligence in medicine, the ethics of digitalization in medicine, new imaging applications, robotic surgery and many more will be presented. Medical faculty students who want to present a paper at the congress must apply until March 7th.


Physicians of the future at the International Student Congress!
Sait Durhan and İlayda Feray Yayla, presidents of NEUMSA and MSANC, who undertook the organization of the “1st International Student Congress of the Faculty of Medicine,” which will be held for the first time in the TRNC, said that they aim to bring together students studying medicine in the world in the TRNC with the congress they will hold between April 14-16. Durhan and Yayla said, “We want to build a strong bridge between the future physicians who receive medical education in our country and the world. They said that the 1st International Student Congress of the Faculty of Medicine, which we organized with the support of the Near East University Faculty of Medicine and the Dean of Students, will be one of the powerful tools of this goal.”

In a joint statement on behalf of the Student Organizing Committee, Dr. Asu Özince, Dr. Okan Erdemsiz, Dr. Süleyman Gündüz said, “We invite all medical school students, who want to gain experience and follow new developments in medicine, to our congress, which will be a very important part of their future professional life.” In the joint statement of the members of the Congress Student Organizing Committee said, “On behalf of all our friends at NEUMSA and MSANC, we would like to thank all the organizing committee, especially Dean of the Near East University Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Gamze Mocan and Near East University Dean of Students Prof. Dr. Dudu Özkum Yavuz, and all the units of the Near East University for their endless support.”
