As part of LÖSEV’s “Traveling the World with Our Children with Leukemia” project, eight children who successfully completed their battle with cancer visited the Cyprus Car Museum on the Near East University campus, experiencing an unforgettable day. The children, who closely examined historical automobiles, had an educational and morale-boosting trip, and also participated in various cultural and official visits as part of their Nicosia program.
The eight children, heroes who successfully completed their battle against cancer, experienced moments full of morale and hope during their visits to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as part of LÖSEV’s “Traveling the World with Our Children with Leukemia” project. As part of the program, the children, who were in Nicosia, visited the Near East University campus and witnessed the history of automobiles from the past to the present at the Cyprus Car Museum.
The LÖSEV delegation and the children from different cities of Turkey had the opportunity to closely examine classic automobiles at the Cyprus Car Museum, located on the Near East University campus and eye-witnessed one of the world’s leading collections. Children, greatly excited by the sight of the nostalgic vehicles, enjoyed themselves by taking many photos with the unique cars in the museum.
During the visit, the children were given information about the historical development of automobiles and the special collections exhibited in the museum. The event, which took place in an educational and morale-boosting atmosphere, was notable for the children’s happiness.
As part of LÖSEV’s social improvement and motivation-focused project, the first days of the TRNC program included visits to Kyrenia Castle, the Shipwreck Museum, Kyrenia Ancient Port, Karmi Village, and Bellapais Monastery. The Nicosia program included a tour of the Near East University campus, as well as visits to the Selimiye Mosque and the Arasta Bazaar.
LÖSEV officials stated that such social projects, aimed at helping children connect more strongly to life after their treatment processes, are of great importance, and expressed their satisfaction with the hospitality shown in the TRNC.
