Near East College students visited the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and the Cyprus Car Museum on the Near East University campus. The students had a pleasant and educational experience full of culture and history during the tour, which was carried out with their teachers.
As part of the visit, the students first closely examined the distinguished examples of contemporary art at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and embarked on a delightful exploration surrounded by art. The museum brings together the works of approximately 3 thousand artists from 14 different Turkish communities with art lovers. In addition to sculptures and paintings, knife and sword collections, ship models, handmade glass works and many works from different periods, were the focus of attention of the students.
They were amazed by the “Koi fish” pool!
After visiting the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, students visited the Cyprus Car Museum and had the opportunity to see classic cars from the past to the present up close. The museum, where more than 150 cars are exhibited, takes its visitors on a journey through time. In addition to classic vehicles from the 1900s, sports cars also attracted great attention of the little ones. Among the most striking sections of the museum for children were toys made from various machine parts, model cars and Batman and Transformers figures.
The “koi fish” pool located in the open area of the museum was one of the sections where children wanted to spend the most time. These colorful fish, which are seen as symbols of determination and success in Japanese culture, offered children a visual feast while also providing them with the opportunity to meet a different culture. In addition, the hyperrealistic silicone sculptures of Formula 1 legends Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna were greatly appreciated by the students. These sculptures, which stand out with their realism, allowed children to get to know two legends and have a unique experience about the history of the automobile.
