The project "Special Education Assessment and Educational Battery" (SEAB), which aims to develop standard assessment and teaching tools for individuals with special needs in special education classes, will be put into practice cooperatively by the Near East University and Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education....

Developed under the name SEAB, this battery aims to ensure the standardization in educational assessment and diagnosis of individuals with special needs in Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, Counseling and Research Centers. Thus, standardization will provide a road map for the teachers working either in Counseling and Research Centers or in special training classes. This battery will provide the teachers with all instruments and materials required to assist the education of the kids with special needs, minimize the misevaluations/under-evaluations and ensure a special setting for education.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the Near East University, the Department for Teaching the Mentally Disadvantaged of NEU Atatürk Faculty of Education had taken active role in Special Education Assessment Battery as a participant and contributor. It was stated that the Department would provide the special education teachers with trainings necessary for the development of the teachers' knowledge and experience. Besides, the Department would provide academic consultation for planning the material development and formatter training process. The Department for Teaching the Mentally Disadvantaged of NEU Atatürk Faculty of Education would provide all academic equipment that required for the development of the project.
